These past few months we’ve been busy brainstorming, mood-boarding and designing, to bring our new products to life (just in time for the spring/summer season!)
Some of our new products have now arrived hot off the press, which include some fab new enamel pins, ring-bound notebooks and our newest addition to our foiled family…..foil prints!
Our new card collection includes a range of children’s cards and prints, as well as a new range of everyday and occasion cards.
Our inspiration behind our new collection has incorporated the key trends this season. Here’s a rundown of some of our favourite trends right now:
First up, and as you may have seen everywhere, is the tropical foliage theme, which started to come into the mix towards the end of last year. This particular design makes us feel oh so ready for summer holiday vibes! This trend has been covered all over the spectrum from prints to cards, to stationery and even jumpers.
Next up is marbling. This seems to be a trend that’s going to stick around for a while. From notebooks to wallpaper - marble has really taken off.
Its distinctive and natural look really creates an open and fresh feel. Whether your plastering your walls with marble, or just simply adding the small marble accents in and around your home, trust us…. you are majorly on trend!
Brass and copper tones
Linking to the marble craze is the idea of introducing brass and copper accents. This look works really well and makes for a luxurious open feel to any room.
Copper has been hugely popular due to the huge rise of rose gold over the past few months, whether it be in your home or on your clothes, rose gold will be and has been a key hit.
Dark blue and green tones
We’ve also seen a massive rise in the dark blue and green colours. This has had a huge effect on the current trends for the spring season, with companies producing anything from sofas to greeting cards with this earthy colour palette. The dark green tones have been massively popular recently due to Pantone naming ‘Greenery’ as their colour of the year.
From foliage to marble we have covered the full spectrum of colour palettes and tones. We loved looking at these and picking out how they best work for our designs and us. We hope this inspires you to create a home fit for this spring/summer season.

In the words of Game of Thrones….winter is coming. Summer and even this year’s mild autumnal days are over (sob) but fear not…..the cosy nights in have arrived! All hail Hygge.
Let’s get snuggled up with soft PJs, cashmere socks and box sets binge fests, whilst wearing a hygge slogan jumper, yass. But all of this staying indoors getting cosy has also got us thinking about homeware. Obviously.
Our motivational mugs are the perfect vehicle for your cuppa soups, hot chocolate or builder’s tea. These mugs really pack a punch of awesomeness. I mean, who doesn’t want to be told that ‘amazing things will happen’ or ‘she believed she could so she did’ every cold morning over breakfast?
If you like to spend a rainy day inside doodling or making those important lists then we
welcome you to our kraft note books. *ALERT* Watch out for out new sketch books and
premium journals….coming soon!
Personally, when it’s too cold outside, we like to get cosy in our beds. Our pillow cases make the perfect place for you to rest your sleepy head whilst dreaming of unicorns. We love a recent photo of our spooning pillows from blogger Megan Ellaby’s Instagram page
We all love a good box set to binge watch when feeling cosy. Here’s a list of some must-watch box sets, courtesy of our friends at Stylist Magazine.
Stay warm cosy this winter folks.

Happy 1st of November! We can't believe how fast this year is zooming by. Here at Old English Company we have been working on a whole load of typography inspiration doodles to brighten up these autumn days!
So below we have put together our favourite five doodles for you to get inspired by this autumn...
Thank you to everyone who came to see us at Stylist Live and helped make it an amazing four days. We’ve just about recovered!
It was the first consumer facing show for Old English Co. We’ve done stacks of trade shows and we’re quite the old hand now. As much as we love meeting buyers and our stockists from various shops and brands, meeting the end customer is brilliant.
Hearing feedback from our customers is invaluable. It’s also always nice meeting people who love our products. The new products we brought along seemed to be roaring success too. Thanks to our regular customers who stopped by and those who discovered our brand for the first. It was great to see you all.
We designed the stand similar to Top Drawer in September. We used OSB boards again, along with painting the walls in a soft grey. This time though, we made some nifty worktops with storage at the bottom to hold the boxes of stock. The boxes were cleverly hidden by our DIY charcoal grey curtains, which once drawn, hid the mayhem (caused by us frantically rummaging around when replenishing stock).
Here’s a video from the show so you can see for yourself:
Our best-selling products
Over the four days, our most popular products were: coasters, especially the ‘you’re weird’ and ‘buy me pizza and tell me I’m pretty’ coasters; enamel pins; the kraft and marble card ranges; as well as various prints, including our Erin Hanson quote ‘What if I fall? Oh but my darling, what if you fly?' - Which was so popular we completely sold out of this one on day two!
Stylist Live best bits
There were so many highlights. It certainly lived up to its name of the festival of inspiration - some great motivational talks took place. Not forgetting to mention the food freebies, which helped keep our energy levels up! It was a great show and we’re looking forward to being part of the show next year. Bravo.

Top Drawer 2016
Wowzer. It’s certainly been a busy few weeks for team OE. Last week we exhibited at the Top Drawer trade show at Kensington Olympia and it was one of our most enjoyable trade shows to date!
Apart from being surrounded by some great people (new friends!) we were really chuffed with our stand build. Ok, at times it seemed like a comedy sketch with a few ‘to me, to you’ moments as we battled with the spirit level and OSB boards which formed the shelving for our cards, prints and notebooks. But it all came together and we were really happy with the outcome.
Rather than our usual charcoal grey walls, this time we went wild and changed. We opted for the muted grey walls, which really made the shelves pop and stand out. We also had a pretty sweet position, we managed to bag ourselves the stand facing the main walkway so it meant when we went to get the coffees in, we could spot our stand and find our way back safely to camp. Minus the distractions along the way (shiny things!)
Curious to see what our stand looked like? Sure. You can watch a short video below of the stand build to completion.
So, what were our best sellers? This time round we were in the stationery section rather than home and gift, so aptly we took our brand new range of cards, notebooks, prints and some coasters, mugs, enamel pins and make-up pouches thrown in for good measure.
Our notebooks were a crowd pleaser too. The A5 ones were the overall winners. Perhaps it’s the motivational slogans against the kraft which makes them a delight for scribbling down those important lists.
Our Marble range products did pretty well too, Yasss. We're pleased about that because we're marbles about marble. The marble coasters being the overall winner at Top Drawer. Because who wouldn’t want a marble effect coaster?
Autumn Alert...including cake!
Since being back in the studio, as well as sending out the orders placed at the trade show, we’ve all been thinking about our new products for the seasons ahead.
As the nights get darker earlier it’s pretty much time. Time to don those cashmere socks, sip copious amounts of tea/hot choccie and snuggle up with a duvet. We love autumn!
Some might say that our mugs make the perfect vehicle for a hot beverage. They will remind you of how awesome you are whilst you drink your cuppa. And our pillow cases and cushion covers will help make your home look oh so stylishly-cosy.
Have a gander below and also whilst you’re at it, have your cake and eat it. Here’s a delicious recipe for pumpkin cupcakes with cinnamon cream cheese frosting. OMG. Literally smells like autumn. You’re welcome.
